Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Recommendations
Recommendations to keep you and your family safe from Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) infection.

MBB Consulting takes the Coronavirus outbreak seriously. To address this serious matter, training is available via video conference. Many consulting services including Measurement System Analysis (MSA) are possible remotely. We have suspended travel outside the US. Meanwhile, consultants travelling in the US:

Wear N95 or better masks in highly congested spaces such as airports, planes, shuttles, etc.
Carry hand sanitizer and their own silverware (or use plastic / disposable).
Follow decontamination protocol sterilizing their plane seat areas, rental cars, and hotel rooms.

Consider the following additional actions to keep you and your family safe:

Stay Informed. Monitor viral propogation. This map is the best one we've found. Avoid high-infection areas.
Stock Up. Have at least 4 weeks of water, non-perishable food, and consumables like medicine, vitamins, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, etc. stored in your residence. Why 4 weeks? As a point of reference, on Feb. 9, Apple announced shutting down its market-critical stores in mainland China. By Feb. 24, 69% had reopened. By March 9, 90%. With an appropriately aggressive viral containment response, it seems isolation can be limited to about 4 weeks. Italy will also be locked down for 4 weeks from March 10 - April 3.
Hand Sanitizer. If you can't find hand sanitizer for sale, make your own. Simply mix >= 90% isopropyl rubbing alcohol with aloe vera gel in a 3:1 ratio.
Containment. Cough and sneeze into your shirt which is better containment than sneezing into your elbow as many people recommend.
High Risk Encounters. Don't touch public surfaces such as toilet seats or door handles. Use your sleeve to open doors. Disinfect your skin and items after contact with public surfaces or people. A good example is an airport security checkpoints. Consider how many ID's they touch. Gloves they're wearing protect them, but do nothing to protect you. After receiving your drivers licence or other ID back, disinfect it and your hands.
Finger Foods. Don't eat chips, cookies, sandwiches, french fries, etc. In general, avoid touching your hands to your face especially mouth, eyes, ears, or nose.
Decontamination Chamber. Set up a chamber to decontaminate people returning to your home such as the laundry room especially if it is adjacent to your garage and precedes the rest of the home. In it, have a sterilizing mouth rinse for which one recipe might be: distilled water, honey, salt, and possibly baking soda. After mouth rinse, remove all clothes and proceed directly to the shower.
Immunological Strength. Add the following to your daily meals:

Breakfast. Try this anti-viral fruit / nut salad recipe:
-Guava, Kiwi, Peaches, Papaya, Oranges, Strawberry and/or Pineapple all high in Vitamin C
-Almonds and/or hazelnuts high in Vitamin E
-Peanuts and/or pine nuts high in zinc
-Drizzled with anti-viral manuka honey

Lunch. Soup:
-Chicken cooked on the bone
-Shiitake mushrooms high in zinc

Dinner. Here's another salad concept:
-Spinach high in vitamin C
-Brocolli and carrots both high in vitamin A
-Roasted garlic
-Drizzled with anti-viral manuka honey

-Green tea
-Ginger. The coronavirus causes digestive distress. Ginger is uniquely suited to destroy digestive pathogens.
-Lemon juice

Raw Garlic "Pill". Each night before bed, swallow a small clove of raw garlic as-if its a vitamin or pill.

Stay safe out there!
