Our Master Black Belts walk the path of profitability.
We don't come in and meaninglessly process flow / value stream map the entire organization
or arbitrarily 5S areas and make people tape where the stapler goes on their desk.
A pretty shadow board showing where tools go is nice.
What's better is more frequently used tools closer to the point of use in a way that minimizes
motion, makes work easier, and therefore gains at least a soft cost save.
We transform the current state into a more profitable contained state.
Then we transform the contained state into a more profitable future state.
If any step would result in a less profitable condition or payback period greater than the company's cut off (generally 12 months),
then we don't make the change. Practicing in this manner has allowed us to save literally millions of dollar per year
in the industries below.
Millions of dollars per year have been saved entriprise-wide including the following functions:

Designed for every employee in the company. Techniques are condensed down to essential steps necessary to make significant improvement out on the plant floor or in their own areas with nothing more than paper, pencil, ruler, and a calculator.
Our Master Black Belt introduced improved quality and manufacturing processes. Our company was moving to become ISO certified. He and I, plus one other, came from the automotive side and certified in ISO. Further, we had QS experience which was a more concentrated standard to allow all automotive companies to work to the same quality and manufacturing standard. He was also familiar with TS quality standards.
I had an excellent and memorable experience of attending Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt training from a professional trainer, coach and industry expert who was hired by our organization to help with the transformation of company processes. Our Master Black Belt was not only knowledgeable in the subject but also had several years of hands-on experience working on complex projects, solving problems, applying and implementing Lean and Six Sigma techniques. His teaching skills were exceptional making it easy for everyone to clearly understand the concepts. He brought energy and motivation in the workforce and quickly won praise, recognition and respect from management, staff and shop floor employees. His knowledge transfer, coaching, and guidance helped improve several key processes and resulted in significant improvement in company KPIs and customer satisfaction level. I highly recommend him for his remarkable skills, knowledge, passion, and professional approach towards process and business excellence.

I had the pleasure of working with our Master Black Belt at our energy tech firm. There, he created an internal mentorship and training program to teach lean/six sigma concepts. The training was made available to employees spread both horizontally and vertically throughout the organization. Executives, managers, assemblers and receptionists alike were soon finding and eliminating waste within their workday. This divide-and-conquer philosophy in executing the continuous improvement program was not only an incredibly efficient way to find and implement cost savings, but also created a culture of empowerment within our organization. Our MBB encouraged all of his students to use these techniques to add value to the organization, in-turn making them more valuable employees.
