About Parameter Design Training

Who is Parameter Design Training for?

Parameter Design is most often used by Product Design Engineers and their management. In our course, Texas students learn:

Parameter Design Training Course Overview:

How many billions of dollars do you suppose have been lost due to parameters (dimensions) being set wrong or failing to communicate safety-related and function-critical feature classification to Procurement and Manufacturing teams?

The primary focus of our 1-day Introduction to Parameter Design is conveying how design products that customers want to buy. Not doing this can be catastrophic. One of the worst examples we've seen is a small company who wasted $12M designing a pressure-based UPS system for which they generated zero sales. Through presentation, examples, and hands-on exercises, Texas students will learn through doing the following in a highly interactive and fun setting:

Running a designed experiment with low cost components and process settings.
Selecting optimum values for parameters that will reduce the variability of the response to noise.
Selecting lowest cost settings for factors that have minimal effect on response.

Prerequisites. Basic:
Knowledge of Product Design / Engineering
Math: Algebra, Summations
Excel

Details.
All Texas students receive a binder of slide print-outs.
Texas students will also be asked to evaluate the class.
Comprehension will be measured with a quiz. Passing grade is 80%. Texas students scoring less will receive a call from their instructor to review weak points.
Once understanding is confirmed, certificate proofs will be emailed for error-checking.
Certificates will then be printed and delivered by normal mail. Certificates are individually serialized with no expiration date although annual refresher training is recommended.

Schedule. The day is usually 8am-3pm including time for breaks and followed by a quiz. Lunch is between 30-60 minutes depending on client preference.

Texas

The Lone Star State - Don't Mess With Texas

Each possesses its own advantages. For example, Houston is an excellent opportunity to network with oil and gas professionals. Combined, the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex is a massive area full of aerospace companies. The US Postal Service also has a substantial presence in Dallas. Austin is a fun city with mostly tech. San Antonio is a famous Toyota location. Although perhaps less known, HEB is huge there along with several banks. Galveston is cool because it's on the Gulf Coast. And some of our classes sail from there on cruise ships. Yep, you read that right. Check it out. Texan cuisine is founded on BBQ, chicken fried steak, chili, fried okra, tex mex, brisket tacos, tortilla soup, Dr. Pepper, frozen margaritas, and pecan pie. Consider a native blue topaz souvenir with stones harvested exclusively from Mason County streambeds and ravines.
