Who is Chemical Safety Training for?

Chemical Safety Training is for everybody. At work, home, and during our daily adventures, we are all exposed to hazardous chemicals. In our course, Milwaukee students learn:

Chemical safety training protects Milwaukee students, their peers, families, and friends from exposure to hazardous chemicals at work and at home. Pretty much anything can kill you. Even too much water can be toxic. Salt water certainly is. Automobile gasoline fumes, chlorine in bleach, pesticides under tempting shiny wax-coated vegetables, phthalate-ridden shampoo bottles, mercury-filled fluorescent light bulbs, etc.; these are all common examples. But other substances are lethal even in minuscule quantities. Protect yourself from illness, permanent injury, or death by learning about hazardous substance:

Exposure. Types, routes, targets, effects, and limits. Types include carcinogens, caustics / acids, adhesives, polymers, aldehydes / amines / amides, diisocyanates, solvents, lubricants, coal derivatives, lead, silica, man-made fibers such as asbestos, coatings, and metallic fumes such as generated by welding, brazing, and soldering.

Detection. Communicated by labeling / marking or and material data sheets, fact sheets, observations, and measurements.

Control. Substitution, isolation, engineering controls, administrative controls, storage, handling, work practices, operational controls, and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Emergencies. Exasperation by confined spaces, fires, treatments, and other responses.

Excellent choice! Milwaukee means 'pleasant land'. It is a city perfectly situated to serve as a port at the Menomonee River's mouth into the west coast of Lake Michigan. Since early in the city's economy, wheat was shipped out by ship and train giving rise to grain elevator and brewery construction. Tanneries and a brickyard making cream-colored bricks; this Milwaukee's nickname "Cream City" had nothing to do with dairy. Sine then, the city diversified to include more manufacturing infrastructure. Several entertainment options exist for after Chemical Safety Training. Water sports are popular especially various forms of sailing. The Harley-Davidson and Milwaukee Art Museums are prominent attractions. Lakefront Brewery and Pabst Mansion are also highly rated.

Our Chemical Safety Training site is ideally situated next to Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward which boasts the highest concentration of art galleries in the city, numerous restaurants, unique specialty stores, the Broadway Theatre Center and the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design. The center is on the edge of Milwaukee's East Side, with spectacular views of downtown, Lake Michigan and the Milwaukee River.
