About Confined Space Training

Who is Confined Space Training for?

Employers are required by law to provide a safe and healthy workplace for their employees so must be aware of all confined spaces in their work environment. Before assigning employees to work in a confined space, employers must train and test them for competence / knowledge of this topic. Additional CPR and first aid certification is required for rescue team members. In our course, Shreveport students learn:

Confined Space Training Course Overview:

Confined space training protects Shreveport students, their peers, families, and friends from injury in small, occupiable, restricted-egress spaces. Such spaces can become dangerous traps tending to accumulate harmful gases, fumes, or other materials or hazards that may arrest and injure or kill you. OSHA uses the term "permit-required confined space" (permit space) to describe a confined space that has one or more of the following characteristics: contains or has the potential to contain a hazardous atmosphere; contains material that has the potential to engulf an entrant; has walls that converge inward or floors that slope downward and taper into a smaller area which could trap or asphyxiate an entrant; or contains any other recognized safety or health hazard, such as unguarded machinery, exposed live wires, or heat stress.

Our 1-day training topics include:

Key elements of OSHA's Permit-Required Confined Spaces Regulation (29 CFR 1910.146).

Requirements for developing and maintaining a confined space entry program.

Confined spaces concepts and terminology including what determines whether a confined space requires a permit for entry.

Crossroads of the South - Louisiana's Other Side

Excellent choice! Shreveport is the educational, commercial and cultural center of the Ark-La-Tex region, where Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas meet. Shreveport was established after the Red River was made navigable by Captain Henry Miller Shreve. It has been a major player in the United States oil business, but has since transitioned to a gambling-based tourist economy also hosting military installations including Barksdale Air Force Base.

I had already had exposure to FMEA prior to this class, but I was still able to take away elements that will be immediately applicable to my work. Our MBBC instructor listened to the comments and questions with patience and understanding , and helped get everyone on the same page.

Our MBBC trainer was very knowledgeable and informative in every area. The training was great for people with little to no experience or those with some experience already. He catered to what we previously knew about ISO/IATF. The course allowed me to practice my own skills which I liked most because you don't learn without trying. You also don't know what you don't know so having an instructor with all his experience / expertise helped foresee possible issues we may run into in the future so we are equipped to handle those.
