About Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) Training

Who is Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) Training for?

LOTO training is for anybody working with or around equipment especially people who could enter equipment work envelopes intentionally or accidentally. The course is especially relevant to Machine Operators, Maintenance personnel, and Machinists. We recommend training while on-boarding employees into at-risk roles, plus refresher training at least every 12 months. OSHA requires energy control procedure be separately inspected at least annually. Employees should also be retrained at least internally any time their work instructions are changed especially in any way with LOTO or other safety ramifications. In our course, Denver students learn:

Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) Training Course Overview:

Lock Out Tag Out training helps Denver students avoid injury by zeroing out or controlling energy sources before entering a machine's work envelope. We have been in plants with fatalities and serious injuries; amputations, etc. Safety is no joke. But we still see it being treated that way in more than half of the factories we visit: totally exposed pinch points, Operators intentionally defeating safety devices, working in machines while the machine remains energized. And for no reason other than "convenience". Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) is a topic that needs to be continually reinforced. We are zealous about safety. Our trainers have the experience and right attitude about safety to deliver.

Denver

Mile High City

Excellent choice! Denver truly a mile above sea level, home to a US mint, and has a capital building adorned with onyx and domed with real gold. The city was founded as a gold rush mining settlement. Rail and an overland wagon route supported growth. An opera house and hotels were built. Carnations were cultivated. Various types of manufacturing have flowed through Denver including luggage, automotive belts, furniture polish, and construction products. The city has also grown culturally offering interesting activities for after Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) Training. Most popular are Denver Botanic Gardens, Mount Evans, and Denver Union Station.

I had the pleasure of working with our Master Black Belt in a high-tech manufacturing company where formal continuous improvement was a new concept. I was impressed with his ability to translate the concepts and skills needed to start down the path of the discipline in a way that was not only accessible to the employees, but excited them and moved many of them into being active, positive participants. I saw an immediate improvement in overall engagement, which helped in areas well beyond the tactical and functional areas included in the improvement project, itself.

I had the pleasure of working with our Master Black Belt at our energy tech firm. There, he created an internal mentorship and training program to teach lean/six sigma concepts. The training was made available to employees spread both horizontally and vertically throughout the organization. Executives, managers, assemblers and receptionists alike were soon finding and eliminating waste within their workday. This divide-and-conquer philosophy in executing the continuous improvement program was not only an incredibly efficient way to find and implement cost savings, but also created a culture of empowerment within our organization. Our MBB encouraged all of his students to use these techniques to add value to the organization, in-turn making them more valuable employees.
