About Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) Training

Who is Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) Training for?

Failure Mode and Effects Analysis training is for anybody interested in launching a new undertaking more successfully. New undertakings can be services, products, or processes. And more successfully means with less risk, injury to customers or employees, warranty cost, rework cost, and scrap cost. In our course, Tacoma students learn:

Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) Training Course Overview:

FMEA training describes Failure Mode and Effects Analysis so Tacoma students can lessen risk while designing any new system, product, or process. FMEA as a Design Tool. Failure Mode and Effects Analysis was born in Aerospace and evolved in Automotive; industries where we can't afford to make mistakes because they're safety-critical and measured in the cost of lives lost. What's useful for designing a zero-failure Space Shuttle is probably useful everywhere. Many industrial leaders agree so FMEA has found applications not only in product design but system design and process design as well. For example, Manufacturing Engineers in Automotive Powertrain divisions may have $50M budgets to launch new machining lines. That's a lot of money; as much as many smaller companies earn in a year. Mistakes can't be made. The expectation is that these new, super-complex lines launch flawlessly. How can that be done? FMEA.

FMEA as a Root Cause Analysis Tool. In Six Sigma's DMAIC Analyze Phase, suppose you're working on a really tough problem with a low defect rate or a one-off that was destroyed in the process of its failure. How can you find the root cause? Many folks give up at this point claiming, "we can't do anything about a one-off failure". Not true. If that were true, FAA investigators wouldn't have jobs. If actual failure modes no longer exist, we can look at potential causes. FMEA allow us to do that.

Excellent choice! By connecting deep-water Commencement Bay with the Northern Pacific Railroad, Tacoma became a center of international trade on the Pacific Coast. Tacoma boasts Washington's highest density of art and history museums, over 50 parks, and a restored urban waterfront. After Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) Training, check out the Thea Foss Waterway. The Museum of Glass and Point Defiance Park are also popular.

MBBC's instructor is a true gem in the industry! Not only was he engaging (no one fell asleep, that really says something), his industry knowledge is current and even surpasses the industry standards for accuracy, clarity, and understanding in the GD&T space. From this course, I discovered how much GD&T exposure I have had as a Biomedical Engineer working in Quality, and it also gave me the framework I need to finally move into design and product development. I am looking forward to taking more courses with MBB Consulting.

Our MBBC trainer was very knowledgeable and informative in every area. The training was great for people with little to no experience or those with some experience already. He catered to what we previously knew about ISO/IATF. The course allowed me to practice my own skills which I liked most because you don't learn without trying. You also don't know what you don't know so having an instructor with all his experience / expertise helped foresee possible issues we may run into in the future so we are equipped to handle those.
